Telford's Tidal Doors
The Doors are displayed in an overwelmingly fenced enclosure. They date from around 1812.
Designed by Thomas Telford and originally used to control the flow of water from the side of
drainage channels that run alongside the straightened and Canalised Afon Cefni ,
for the six mile tidal section between the outskirts of Llangefni and Malltraeth.
The Afon Cefni drains most of central Anglesey.
