Leaving Newbough Forest the Coast Path follows Malltraeth Cob.
A nature reserve managed by the RSPB is on the north side of the Cob.
The causeway known as the Cob (1780's) was the main component in a scheme, 1788-1812 ,
to reclaim 4,200 acres of land known as Malltraeth Marsh in a large inlet at Malltraeth.
